What is a CTSO?
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) is an integral component of the classroom curriculum and instruction for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. CTSOs enhance student learning by building upon employability and career skills and concepts through the application and engagement of students in hands-on demonstrations and real-life and/or work experiences.
CalAPS is an active member of SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is America's proud champion of the skilled trades. Their mission is to empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members
Student Benefits
CTSOs guide students in developing a career path, a program of study, and provide opportunities in gaining the skills and abilities needed to be successful in those careers. Students have opportunities to participate in extracurricular CTSO activities, including competitive events and leadership conferences at the local, state, and national levels to network with students, industry, and business partners.
Each year, the CalAPS program participates in the Regional, State, and National (Gold Medal winners only) conference.
