Interim CEO Message

Dear CalAPS Community,

I am honored to step into the role of Interim CEO. My journey in education began in 1997 when I started teaching English Language Arts and English Language Development at Bellflower Middle/High School. My experiences as a classroom teacher helped prepare me to take on other leadership roles such as Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction, and Guidance at the same school. My leadership experience expanded when I became Principal of Ramona Elementary School in the Bellflower Unified School District and, most recently, when I served as Executive Director for CalAPS.

At CalAPS, our dedication to excellence in CTE remains unwavering. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive in their chosen career pathways. As Interim CEO, I will work to uphold this commitment and ensure that our CTE programs continue to prepare students for success in the workforce.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the legacy of our founding CEO, Mrs. Lisa Azevedo, who is currently serving as the Interim Superintendent of the Bellflower Unified  School District. I greatly admire her vision, her ability to inspire others, and her tireless efforts in advancing CalAPS's mission. During her absence, I am fully committed to maintaining the momentum she has built and ensuring that CalAPS continues to thrive. I look forward to continue working closely with all of our amazing teachers and staff to uphold the high standards of excellence that Mrs. Azevedo has set. 

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to CalAPS's continued success and to continue advancing our mission and vision for CalAPS. Together, we will continue to build upon the strong foundation that has been laid before us and propel CalAPS forward towards even greater success.
