California Advancing Pathways for Students (CalAPS) is dedicated to developing and providing quality Career Technical Education (CTE) for students to ensure they become successful, contributing college and career ready members within the global community. CalAPS is a CTE/ROP program for high school students. We serve the students of Bellflower, Lynwood and Paramount Unified School Districts in the southeastern area of Los Angeles County. CalAPS was formed as a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) by the Bellflower and Lynwood School Districts in 2016. A majority of courses are offered afterschool at four different high school sites however, some day classes are also offered on three different campuses.

CalAPS employees consist of teachers, campus security, counselors, instructional assistants, a bilingual secretary, a fiscal/HR management specialist, an Executive Director, and a CEO. CalAPS contracts for payroll, audit, insurance and transportation services. CalAPS has five appointed Board Members representing both Bellflower and Lynwood Unified School District with one member representing local business. CalAPS is positioned to prepare students for a smooth transition to community college and/or employment in the local workforce area based on regional labor needs.
