Mission & Philosophy
CalAPS is committed to delivering high-quality Career Technical Education (CTE) courses that empower students to thrive as successful, contributing, college and career-ready members of the global community.
Our vision drives us forward, as we pledge to align our courses with California's Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards, Career-Ready Practice Standards, 21st Century skills, knowledge, performance anchor standards, and pathway standards. We're dedicated to providing students with more than just classroom instruction - we offer up-to-date industry expertise, meaningful career exploration, and valuable work experience.
But we don't stop there. We're not just educators, we're partners. CalAPS collaborates with local businesses, civic organizations, and higher education institutions to create CTE programs that equip students with the experience they need for postsecondary education and meaningful careers.

At a Glance
2-4
Years
Students in a CalAPS Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway program take a specialized sequence of courses, a pathway which provides rigorous academic and technical knowledge and skills aligned with a specific career focus. CTE pathways range from 2 to 4 years in length and culminate in a capstone level course.
9-12
Grades
Courses are offered to students in grades 9-12.

CalAPS offers 13 CTE pathway programs across 11 industry sectors.

School Districts
CalAPS partners with 3 different school districts - Bellflower Unified, Lynwood Unified, and Paramount Unified. Students from 11 different high schools in those 3 districts have the opportunity to register for CalAPS courses.
